Since the new PackRat has been introduced and all pop-ups have completely vanished, some edits need to be made to current collections. Any card that states "pop-up" as a method of collection is no longer valid. Cards that are found through the "Draw a Card" feature are called "Bonus Draws". Any card that says "pop-up" should be double checked to see if there's a new method of obtaining the card.
Also, a quick reminder: When uploading images to cards with more than one word in them, remember to substitute any spaces with hyphens (-) and remove any apostrophes ('). The former is for simple consistency. The latter will cause an error if not done. Thank you! -Colin (Page | Talk | Pack) 23:20, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

As of the PackRat changes on Tuesday October 14, 2008 the Ninja Storm vault has been redone. All of the following information is no longer valid. -Colin (Page | Talk | Pack) 23:20, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
As everyone knows Ninja Storm is a unique collection. The "top card" (Storm Dragon) is used to create the "second card" (Ninja Dragon) and the "third card" (Fire Dragon) is used to make the "fourth card" (Frost Dragon).
On September 3rd, I started a poll to decide what order should be used (be it Vault Order or a new type of ordering I call Value Order (see the Ninja Storm discussion page)). The poll ended on Sunday, September 7th and the results were "published" on September 8th.
The published results are available on the Ninja Storm discussion page (see previous link).
The order of Ninja Storm is as follows:
I understand this may be confusing to some people. But this is how a majority of the people who voted wanted it to be. So if you see it like this, please do not change it.
If you chose to ignore this you will be politely reminded of the correct order. But please do not ignore it.
A big thank you to everyone for your hard work and dedication to this Wiki! -Colin (Page | Talk | Pack) 17:54, 10 September 2008 (EDT)
*EDIT*: I apologize, I put the cards in the wrong order both here and on the discussion page. Sorry for the confusion, both errors have been fixed. Thank you Angelsk for that catch! -Colin (Page | Talk | Pack) 18:27, 10 September 2008 (EDT)

I know it's been a while since anything has been posted here but here it goes! I'm not sure if you guys realize but we use 6 different templates here on the Wiki (three for new cards and three for the individual collection pages). Well I spent some time on Thursday and condensed the templates down to just two: "Item" and "New".
Help on how to use these new templates can be found in the help files: Help:Editing
The other templates still work, but these should be much easier to use. If you want to play around with them head over to the sandbox and try the different combinations out. If you have any questions just take a look at the other items or send me a message. -Colin (Page | Talk | Pack) 17:50, 19 July 2008 (EDT)

I'm not 100% sure if Facebook integration is working for anyone anymore. Facebook has been making some changes to how applications authenticate, so it's throwing things for a loop. The new profile system is going to be a big change, so I don't expect it to work after that. Instead, I'm waiting for Facebook Connect to be released. That's designed specifically for what I'm trying to do, so it should be the best option. I'll leave things on hold for now. Thanks for your patience with this!

I've added some initial work on Facebook integration with the site. I have some cool stuff planned in the future. For now, it's as simple as verifying who you are. You're able to link up your account on here with your account on Facebook. You'll find that over in the Preferences page. When you log in, be sure to check the "Keep me logged in to PackRat Wiki." checkbox! If you don't do that, your account will become disassociated with the site and you'll lose out on that future functionality. For the moment, the only visible change is on your user page, which will show your profile picture and name with a link to your profile on facebook.com. Please let me know if you find any bugs or have difficulty with it. I'm 99% sure it's fine, since it's a relatively simple extension I coded up in about 3 hours. But god knows I've broken something inadvertently ^_^ timdorr 01:21, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

A late night coding session has yielded some success! I've added a new section to the image pages to handle the alternative sizes of the cards. The first example is here (click on the image):
![]()
The way it works is you just need to upload a file of the same name with ".med" and ".large" added to the filename. So, for the Steel-espresso-machine.gif file, there is also a Steel-espresso-machine.med.gif file and a Steel-espresso-machine.large.gif file. Those will get automatically included into the image page. Please be sure to use the 64x64 pixel image for the medium size and the 128x128 pixel image for the large size. This will let us all see the full quality card images, but still handle special cases like The Heist in the Rat Pack set.
Now all there is to do is to get uploading. Lots of work to be done, so we'll need some volunteers :) And if you find any problems, please let me know! timdorr 03:46, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
I've added another example to help explain things a bit:
As you can see, there are completely different icons for the small size and the medium and large sizes. This shouldn't be the only reason for uploading the alternate sizes, since it would be nice to see all the card images in their full resolution glory :)

I added a Google search box at the top that searches the entire web. So, if you happen to need to search the web after visiting a page on the wiki, be sure to give that search box a whirl :) timdorr 15:29, 13 May 2008 (EDT)

There is now a New Releases link in the sidebar. Thanks for the idea and work goes to Kirk! It should provide a quick and easy way to see about new cards without having to check every page and try to remember. timdorr 19:56, 12 May 2008 (EDT)

Update: I just changed the default font on all pages to Calibri (you don't have Calibri, it will fall back to Arial). Calibri is the new sans-serif font from Microsoft that's included with Office 2007 (and Office 2008 on the Mac) and is set to replace Times New Roman (yay!). If you don't have Office 2007, you can install these fonts for free by installing the Powerpoint Viewer 2007. I'm not quite sure where to get them for the Mac, but we've only got about 12% Mac users on the site right now and Arial isn't that bad of an option. timdorr 15:09, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
I added one more add unit at the top of the page to make use of some white space that was up there before. I don't think it intrudes too much, but if you guys hate it, please let me know. I was asked to move the sidebar ads down a notch, but that would place them "below the fold" (not visible on screen), which significantly reduces their value. Again, I'm not trying to be a money grubber, but I do need to offset the costs of this site. It's very active. You guys really like this game! ;)
Also, a side note: I find it really funny and appropriate that the Rat Pack page is showing Frank Sinatra ads :D - timdorr 10:45, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
